Setting up Booking Requirements for Classes

You can "block" clients from taking certain classes based on tags in the Service type. This is a great way to drive clients towards a consultation or intro class, prior to them taking more advanced classes or signing up for your studio!

How to set up booking restrictions:

  1. Go to Set up > Service Types

    1. Here's the page on setting up a new Service Type

  2. On the last step, under "Advanced" you will scroll down to Booking Restrictions

  3. Add in the tags attached to clients that you would like to be able to access this class

For example, if you have a tag that is associated to all Advanced Pilates clients, then you would enter in that tag into the "Booking Restrictions". This would mean that any clients with the Advanced tag would be able to book that Service Type!

Temporarily Blocking a Specific Client

To temporarily block a specific client from booking services, you can use tag-based restrictions. Follow these steps:

  1. Add a unique tag (e.g., "banned") to the client’s profile.

  2. Navigate to Setup → Service Types → Advanced → Booking Restrictions.

  3. Add tags for clients allowed to book and exclude the "banned" tag. This ensures the client cannot book services until the tag is removed.

Restricting ClassPass Clients

To restrict ClassPass clients from booking services, use tag-based access control. Add tags for client groups allowed to book (e.g., studio members) and exclude the ClassPass tag. Only clients with the included tags will be able to book.

Limitations

It is important to note that individual purchase blocking is not supported at the individual client level. Restrictions can only be applied at the pricing-option level for all clients.
