There are two different features available for clients to check in - gym check in or class check in!
The features can be turned on under Settings > General Business Settings:
Note: Both check in features are only accessible through the custom mobile app. If you're interested in learning more about the custom mobile app, reach out to the Support team!
Location Check-In:
Where does the client check in: The location check-in button is a floating button at the bottom right corner of the mobile app
Best used for: Gyms
Purpose: Used for general facility entry, such as open gym or 24/7 access.
Access Method: Barcode scanning is used to check clients into the facility. This method does not apply to specific scheduled classes. The gym check-in flow involves scanning a client’s barcode upon entry. This records attendance for their reservation and ensures seamless access to the facility.
Setting Up Gym Check-In
To enable gym check-in for a specific location and allow clients to access the facility (e.g., open doors):
Go to Settings in your Arketa dashboard.
Navigate to Locations.
Select the desired location.
Enable Gym Check-In for that location.
Test the client check-in and door access to ensure proper functionality.
Using Barcode Scanning for Check-Ins
Barcode scanning simplifies the check-in process for gym access. Here’s how to set it up:
Acquire a compatible barcode scanner (e.g., USB scanner) and connect it to your front-desk computer.
In Business Settings, open Check-In Settings and enable barcode check-in.
Once enabled, unique barcodes are automatically generated for each client. These can be accessed via the app or printed cards.
Staff can scan the client’s barcode on the Gym Check-In screen to complete the check-in process.
Group Class Check-In:
Where does the client check in: The group class check-in appears on the upcoming reservations list within the app.
Best used for: All group classes!
Access Method: Managed through the roster check-in, client check-in screen, or geofenced app self check-in.
