What is domain verification

In order to send emails with a high deliverability and ensure they are from your domain, Arketa requires a domain verification process. Sender domain verification is like proving to Amazon SES (the provider we use to send emails) that you own your email address so you can send emails confidently. It's like showing the key to your mailbox for safe delivery.

Benefits of domain verification:

  1. Trust and Authenticity: Verified sender domains assure recipients that your emails are genuine, reducing the risk of phishing or spam.

  2. Better Email Delivery: Verified domains are less likely to be marked as spam, ensuring your emails reach recipients' inboxes.

  4. Effective Handling: SES can manage email bounces and complaints more effectively for verified domains, helping you maintain email campaign quality.

Please note: In order to send emails via your domain, your account will take a verification process which can take up to 72 hours.

How to connect your domain

  1. Tap on + Sender Domain and add your sender domain

    1. Domain = the web URL of your email. For example if your email is then the domain =

    2. "MAIL FROM" subdomain = the email name before the domain. For example, if your email is then the "MAIL FROM" = hello

Question: What do I do if I receive an error about MX or TXT name being taken?

  • Choose a different subdomain in the Arketa dashboard, such as "marketing."

Add Records to your Domain Provider

Each domain provider has a slightly different process. Please follow the Guidelines linked below on how to connect your domain for email sends.

Add Sender Address

Your address is the full email string. To follow the example above it's

You can add multiple sender address so that some of your campaigns can come from where are others can come from and look like the email is sent from the owner.

4. Once verified, the STATUS column of the Sender Address will show up as Verified! From here you're ready to send your first email.

Email Segment Rules:

What are the predefined Segments and their criteria?

  1. Leads:

    • Users with 0 purchases and 0 reservations.

  2. Intro Offer:

    • Users with at least one purchase meeting specific conditions.

  3. Bought Membership in the Last 7 Days:

    • Users who purchased a subscription in the last 7 days.

  4. Active Member:

    • Users with an active subscription (not in trial) and a valid purchase.

  5. Member:

    • Users with a subscription purchase that is not canceled.

  6. Retention:

    • Users with a subscription purchase not canceled, expiring between now and in seven days.
