What is domain verification
In order to send emails with a high deliverability and ensure they are from your domain, Arketa requires a domain verification process. Sender domain verification is like proving to Amazon SES (the provider we use to send emails) that you own your email address so you can send emails confidently. It's like showing the key to your mailbox for safe delivery.
Note: You must own your email domain in order to use the email verification! We recommend Google Business Starter priced at $6 per month, sign up here.
Benefits of domain verification:
Trust and Authenticity: Verified sender domains assure recipients that your emails are genuine, reducing the risk of phishing or spam.
Better Email Delivery: Verified domains are less likely to be marked as spam, ensuring your emails reach recipients' inboxes.
Brand Reputation Protection: Verified domains enhance your brand's reputation, leading to higher engagement with recipients.
Effective Handling: SES can manage email bounces and complaints more effectively for verified domains, helping you maintain email campaign quality.
Please note: In order to send emails via your domain, your account will take a verification process which can take up to 72 hours.
How to connect your domain
Tap on + Sender Domain and add your sender domain
Domain = the web URL of your email. For example if your email is hello@yogastudio.com then the domain = yogastudio.com

Add Records to your Domain Provider
Each domain provider has a slightly different process. Please follow the Guidelines linked below on how to connect your domain for email sends.
Domain provider | Link to FAQ for adding records | Notes |
Wix | When adding TXT records, remove quotation marks from the value
Squarespace | When adding your CNAME records, remove your domain from the Name field. ie CNAME: rcx7cdpeneuooouk7bf223yygwlfiv5p._domainkey.arketapro.com removing ".arketapro.com"
BlueHost | For Refers To field choose "Other".
Go Daddy | Note that with GoDaddy the page might get cached. If issues persist, open a private browser using Ctrl-Shift-N (Windows) or Command-Shift-N (macOS).
Namecheap | If you have Google Suite connected through Namecheap, please follow this set up. You will need to add your Google Suite records as Custom MX records as well as the Arketa DNS records. Video here |

Add Sender Address
Your address is the full email string. To follow the example above it's hello@yogastudio.com.
You can add multiple sender address so that some of your campaigns can come from hello@yogastudio.com where are others can come from beth@yogastudio.com and look like the email is sent from the owner.
4. Once verified, the STATUS column of the Sender Address will show up as Verified! From here you're ready to send your first email.
Note: Several domain hosting services offer both a website domain (ex: www.yogastudio.com) and a professional business email (info@yogastudio.com) with it. However, it is possible that your business email is not linked directly to your domain provider and was set up independently.
This will not cause an issue, as you can set up a sender address independent from your domain. It is helpful to know for set up purposes where your website domain is hosted and where your business email is hosted as they may not be the same.
Troubleshooting:
Q: What should I do if I encounter issues with MX and TXT names?
A: If you receive an error, submit a different subdomain in the Arketa dashboard.
Q: What if I don't have a business email?
We recommend Google Business Starter priced at $6 per month, sign up here.
My verification failed, what do I do next?
Did you add the DNS records to the correct website? You can check where your domain is hosted by entering your domain at https://who.is/
Try re-entering the DNS records and then refreshing the verification in your Arketa dashboard.
Are the records all added correctly? Please take a screenshot of all records in the DNS settings and send them to our support team to help troubleshoot.
My email went down when I added the DNS records to my domain
Check to make sure you did not modify or remove any pre-existing records. If you did, you'll need to re-add any other DNS records connecting to another website or email service.
