Staff Commissions

Staff Commissions allows studios to automatically calculate and track commissions earned by team members from product sales. Commissions can be configured globally or customized for individual products, including different rates for discounted sales.


How do I enable commissions?

Go to Staff Settings → Commissions and turn on the global toggle.

Once enabled, you can define your default commission structure for the studio.


What commission types are supported?

You can choose from:

  • Percentage — Commission is a percentage of the sale price

  • Fixed Amount — Commission is a set amount per sale

  • None — No commission by default

The currency for fixed commissions follows your studio’s configured currency.


Why would I set the default commission to “None”?

Setting the default to None allows you to enable commissions only for specific products.

This is useful if:

  • Only certain products should earn commission

  • You want precise control over payouts

  • You don’t want staff to earn commission on all sales


Can I set different commissions for specific products?

Yes.

Each product has its own Commissions section where you can override the global default and define product-level rates.

If no product-level rate is set, the global default applies.


What are Promotional (Discounted) Commissions?

Promotional commissions apply when a product is sold at a discount during checkout.

This allows studios to pay a different commission rate for discounted sales.

For example:

  • Standard commission: 5%

  • Discounted sale commission: 2%


Do retail products support commissions?

Yes.

Retail products support the same commission options:

  • Percentage

  • Fixed amount

  • None

  • Use default settings


Does the checkout experience change?

No.

The checkout flow remains the same.

The only requirement is selecting the seller (staff member responsible for the sale), since commissions are assigned to that person.


Can I assign a sale to a different staff member?

Yes. At checkout, you can choose which team member is credited as the seller. That staff member will earn the commission for the sale.


How are commissions calculated?

Commissions are calculated automatically in the background at the time of sale, based on:

  • The assigned seller

  • The product’s commission settings

  • Whether a discount was applied

  • The configured commission type


Where can I see earned commissions?

You can view commissions in the new Setup → Team section.

This report shows:

  • Total commissions earned

  • Sales attributed to each team member

  • Date-range filtering

  • Table and chart breakdowns


Is this information included in payroll reporting?

Yes. The commissions data aligns with the information shown in payroll reports, but is also available in a dedicated reporting interface for easier tracking.
